The morning mist over the Huangpu River had not yet dissipated when the RIDS design team's logo quietly lit up on the glass curtain wall of Panda Plaza. From the vast wilderness of Xinjiang to the cloud-touching heights of Shanghai, this team, accustomed to measuring inspiration with their footsteps, has finally found a new creative base in this urban landmark that blends industrial memory with future imagination.
The mottled red bricks and minimalist steel structures of Panda Plaza interlace, much like RIDS's signature design language — seeking balance between roughness and refinement, embedding contemporary functions within historical textures. The team placed their studio under the top-floor skylight, with the Lujiazui skyline outside the window and a battlefield of models and drawings inside. On moving day, the founder smiled and said, "We used to seek answers in the wilderness; now answers flow in daily from the city outside our window." From the Duku Highway to Panda Plaza, from vast mountains and rivers to the city's heart, RIDS's next journey will continue to explore the boundaries of space, function, and aesthetics in this field illuminated by both sunlight and neon.
